Canton rolls to win over Shenandoah Valley.

After Shenandoah struck first, the Canton Warriors answered with 42 unanswered points in a 58-18 victory on Friday night.

The Warriors produced 478 yards of total offense with 319 coming on the ground. "We work hard on our conditioning and I think that paid off," Canton coach Tyler Sechrist said. "We finally got a running game going. We tried to speed the game up once we saw we could run on them."

Shenandoah Valley got a 62-yard run to start the scoring.

However, Canton struck back in the first quarter when Jimmy Bowman scored on a five-yard run. The two-point run failed and it was 6-6.

In the second quarter, the Warriors took over with 36 points. Bowman scored on a one-yard run, then ran in the two-point try and Ridge Moore had a 14-yard touchdown run, the two-point try failed.

Gavin Hoffman had a pair of one-yard runs and Moore ran in the first two-point try and Bowman had the next two-point run. Moore then had a 37-yard run and the two-point try failed.

Shenandoah scored on a touchdown pass, but Canton answered as Moore hit Camden Smith on a 46-yard touchdown and Bowman had the two-point run.

Carson Stiner had a 12-yard touchdown run to cap Canton's scoring.

Canton ran for 319 yards on the day, with Bowman running for 92 on 12 carries. Timmy Ward ran for 91 on eight carries and Hoffman ran for 80 on eight carries.

Moore threw for 159 yards on 6-of-7 passing. Hoffman had two grabs for 83 yards and Byron Matthews had two catches, while Smith and Levi Gaiotti had catches.
