CV rolls past Bucktail.

Colton Vinluan had 295 yards of total offense as Cowanesque Valley pushed through for their first win of the season, beating Bucktail 49-16.

Vinluan completed three passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns while running the ball four times for 142 yards and a touchdown.

It was all Vinluan in the first quarter as the first CV score came on a 90-yard run by the Indian with 9:05 left. Joey Brown's kick was good.

Then with 6:32 left in the quarter Vinluan hit Corey Wells for a 90-yard scoring play. Brown's point after was good and CV led 14-0.

They continued their strong play in the second quarter as VinLuan had a 37-yard touchdown run, followed by a 50-yard touchdown pass to Wells to make it 28-0 after the two Brown extra points heading into the half.

A 16-yard Brown touchdown run to start the third quarter made it 36-0 CV after Vinluan ran in the two-point conversion.

Bucktail got on the board with 2:57 left in the quarter as Brice Cannon had a 3-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was good and the score was 36-8.

But on the ensuing kick-off Connor Calaman returns it 81 yards to the house to make it 42-8 with 2:43 left in the quarter.

Blake Cannon ran in a touchdown to start the fourth quarter. After the two-point conversion it was 42-16.

Then with 7:47 left to play Cole Gruver ran in a 1-yard touchdown. Brown's kick was good and the Indians won 49-16.

Calaman had seven carries for 33 yards while Brown had two for 19.

Through the air Wells had two catches for 140 yards.

For Bucktail Blake Cannon had 15 carries for 71 yards while Brice Cannon had seven carries for 38 yards.
