SEASON OUTLOOK
Experience:
Offensive and defensive skill positions should be solid with 6 returning starters on offense including the entire backfield, and 4 returning starters on defense in the back 7 including 3 of 4 linebackers.
Offensive and defensive lines will be more of a question with 4 returning starters (2 on each side) out of the 9 positions.
Goals:
Team goal: the same as the past 20 years – win the last game of the season!
A top-priority improvement goal for 2010 will be on the defensive side of the ball.
A major focus will be on defending the run with emphasis on pursuit and playing more physical with improved tackling.
On the offensive side of the ball we will expect more consistency with our experience in the skill positions.
Schedule:
The 2010 schedule will be very challenging with 8 of 10 teams making the playoffs in ‘09.
Three new games have been added to the schedule: playoff rival Line Mountain and longtime regulars Danville and Lewisburg. All were playoff teams last year.
Big rivalry games highlight the home schedule with Shamokin, Bloomsburg, Mount Carmel, and Selinsgrove.
Shamokin on September 17th is our alumni game and Lewisburg October 1st is Homecoming.
